The X Factor 2017: Viewers taken aback with fast food worker’s audition calling her ‘the new Adele.’

The second week of auditions – which took place in Thorpe Park – had already seen judges Simon Cowell, Nicole Scherzinger, Louis Walsh and presenter Dermot O’Leary get wild  on the Tidal Wave.

They also got the fright of their life when they experienced Derren Brown’s terrifying Ghost Train: Rise Of The Demon VR experience. And it was at this point Rebecca Grace, from Rainham, Essex came in front of the judges for her shot at stardom.

When Simon asked her she was doing, she admitted that she was ‘so nervous’.

Simon quickly chipped in ‘and me!’, before explaining that going on the Ghost Train ride before the auditions had left his nerves shattered. ‘So I’m as nervous as you are, trust me,

The performer, who was accompanied by her sister, her parents and her partner, then sang Kelly Clarkson’s Piece by Piece before getting four yeses from some very pleased judges – but it looked the judges weren’t the only ones to show their excitement.

Viewers quickly took to Twitter to call her ‘the new Adele.’ – referring to the Grammy Award singer that has taken the world by storm with her vocals alone.

One user in particular tweeted:’Tonight’s @TheXFactor was brilliant! I think Rebecca Grace could be the new Adele – ‘vel similes’ – gorgeous voice. #PieceByPiece #XFactor’

Another user applauded the show for discovering the young lady and wrote: ‘Rebecca Grace is what the #xfactor2017 is made for… works in McDonald’s serves you when your hanging  & secretly has a voice like that..’

Well, she certainly has the X Factor – and a spot at boot camp beckons. The X Factor returns to ITV on tonight at 8pm.
